How to manage a set of codependent Agile teams?

We recently performed an experiment at a large multinational bank to reduce the delivery time of new features that are delivered by a set of codependent Scrum teams that supports. We achieved the reduction from 29 to 10 days by deploying a set of carefully designed improvement actions in the value chain.

Collaboration challenges between Agile teams
People working with Agile teams recognize the inherent collaboration difficulties. Agile teams tend focusing on their own list with work items. Agile teams therefore tend looking inward, ‘disconnecting’ themselves from the outside world. Such disconnect is counterproductive in case an Agile team cannot independently deliver added value. In that case Agile teams need to collaborate with their interdependent ‘peers’

Achieved reduction
We performed an experiment in 2013 at a large multinational institute to reduce the delivery time of new features. With a set of carefully designed intervention actions we reduced the feature delivery time from 29 days to 10 days.

Scrum Value (chain) Framework
The intervention actions have been packaged in a Scrum Value (chain) Framework (SVF). SVF (previously known as Scrum Chain Framework) is a generic framework for improving the collaboration between Scrum teams.

Publication and next steps
The results have been written down in a journal paper. Since we have submitted the paper to a scientific Journal I cannot share all details via het net yet, hence the image is blurred.
